Buying a home of your own
If you are unable to afford to buy a home of your own outright on the open market there are a number of different options available to you.
New Build HomeBuy (formerly known as Shared Ownership)
As a home ownership provider in London and Hertfordshire, Griffin Homes may be able to help you find an affordable home, through New Build Homebuy. This enables you to buy a share in a new or newly refurbished home of your own and pay a subsidised rent on the remainder.
To find out more, read our Guide to Affordable Home Ownership.
If you would like to find out more about the homes that we currently have available please browse through our 'Homes for sale' sections. Information about each of our developments also includes details of how to apply.
Open Market HomeBuy
Open Market HomeBuy helps people buy a home by offering equity loans of around 25% of the value of the property, alongside a conventional mortgage. If you are interested in Open Market HomeBuy, you should contact the Zone Agent for the area that you live in
Right to Buy and Right to Acquire for SPH Housing tenants
If you are an existing SPH Housing tenant you may qualify to buy your existing home (if you are a tenant with another social landlord you should ask them). As a general rule you are only likely to qualify for Right to Buy if you are a former Griffin secure tenant and you are only likely to qualify for Right to Acquire if your existing home was built sometime from 1997 onwards.
SPH Housing is not running the Social HomeBuy scheme. All SPH Housing Right to Buy and Right to Acquire applications are processed by Griffin Homes. If you want to check if your home qualifies for Right to Buy or Right to Acquire please call Customer Services on 0800 0407989
You can find out more about the Right to Buy and Right to Acquire schemes www.communities.gov.uk/index.asp?id=1151271
